Overview | |
We hope to engage your child's sense of Jewish identity by capturing their imagination and attention with creative lessons and a positive atmosphere. Each morning at CHS begins with Davening (prayer). No matter which synagogue your child attends in the future they will share the language of prayer with Jews around the world. |
Our Hebrew School program offers a Hebrew and Jewish studies curriculum. Students learn to read and write Hebrew, basic Hebrew language skills and gain an appreciation for the who, what, when and why of Jewish life. |
Our educational approach sees the student as an active learner, a dynamic explorer rather than a passive recipient of knowledge. As such, our curriculum cultivates the student's natural enthusiasm for learning, so that s/he emerges with the values, knowledge and skills necessary for a solid foundation of life-long Jewish learning. |
Drama, song, interactive workbooks, Aleph Champ and of course the teachers bring the information to life at the Chabad Hebrew School. We engage your child's sense of identity by capturing his/her imagination and attention. So, we put a lot of effort into providing our students with substantive lessons and a positive atmosphere. |
The lessons are multi-sensory and hands-on, ensuring that the students truly experience what they are being taught. |
Art projects are incorporated into our curriculum to add to the excitement of the upcoming holidays and Mitzvot. |
The lessons are structured with discussion-starters to create a lively, interactive classroom experience. The information truly becomes the student's own. |
Hebrew | |
Our students learn to read & write Hebrew proficiently through the Aleph Champ program. They gain a strong familiarity with the Siddur (Hebrew Prayer Book). |
Holidays & Shabbat | |
Students learn about Jewish traditions and celebrations by exploring Shabbat and the Holidays with hands on crafts and activities. |
Jewish History | |
We learn about various heroes from Jewish history, and discuss how Jewish heritage and culture has been preserved throughout the ages. For each hero students find a quality that they can adopt and a lesson they can learn. |
Israel | |
Our students will gain an appreciation for our homeland, Israel; the biblical and historical claim that our people have to the land, and the brave soldiers that protect it. |
Jewish Values & Mitzvot | |
Beginning with the origins of the Mitzvot, leading to practical contemporary applications in their daily lives, our students will explore their personal Judaism. Our Mitzvah curriculum emphasizes the meaning that each mitzvah imparts on our daily life. |
